Virtually all companies have experienced some type of intrusion due to vulnerable code, according to Checkmarx’s annual report: The Future of Application Security in the Era of AI. The report unveils rising trends in the number of firms reporting breaches due to vulnerable code, reaching an all time high of 98% this year. Further, eight in ten companies reported knowingly deploying vulnerable code, an increase from 67% in 2024.
