High Availability Architecture

High availability architecture is an approach of defining the components, modules or implementation of services of a system that ensures optimal operational performance, better load balance and easier versioning for upgrades. SAST supports high availability architecture, where two or more Manager servers (in active-active mode) are installed and can access the same database. This ensures that in cases where one Manager fails the system will continue to be operational.

The main objective of implementing High Availability is to make sure SAST is always available for the systems users and clients. The ActiveMQ can be configured as an individual server, or as part of a cluster (node).

Notice

Note that all Managers must be co-located in same data center. If you are interested in configuring a High Availability solution refer to the sections about configuring SAST for high availability or contact Checkmarx support.

SAST also supports following architecture types:

Communication between the Client and Manager as well as communication between the Manager and the Engine are via HTTP (by default). HTTPS can also be configured.

Notice

Starting with SAST v9.4.0, M&O is no longer available for new installation. For previous information about M&O, please refer to Management and Orchestration.
